Already today - eight months before the TAFISA World Congress to be held 23-27 October 2013, the city of Enschede is well prepared for this unique global event. As the multiple time winner of the Dutch “Sport City of the Year” award, Enschede, is very qualified to organize the Congress, and they are planning a fireworks of different sport and physical activity programs - both in theory and practice - as part of the overall Congress concept.

Following the special Dutch tradition of cycling, it will be the major means of transport during the Congress.
Presently, the list of keynote speakers has been confirmed to include celebrities like the Prince of Orange to be invited. The main Congress theme of “Sport for All and Sustainability” promises a unique selection of contributors with the four subthemes namely

•    New technology and social media
•    Nature and the environment
•    Communities and networks
•    Social inclusion, empowerment and participation

To learn more about the event and how to attend, please visit the Congress website www.tafisaworldcongress2013.nl.

Dorien Dijk, the representative of NISB (Netherlands Institute of Sport and Physical Activity) and the Congress organizer, is fully satisfied with the present status of preparation, but is aware that “there is still a long way to go” before the Congress opens its doors on October 23.
