Designed To Move is a global physical activity action agenda, and TAFISA’s primary physical activity platform. It is open, and all TAFISA members are invited to access and use its contents. However, many members are not sure just how to do this.
In response to this demand, TAFISA has created this ‘How To’ Designed to Move" Toolbox for its members as a guide to understanding and aligning with Designed To Move, spreading the message and celebrating their successes.
Remember, Designed To Move is not a new program, but a framework for aligning the good work you are already doing, and strengthening your local, and the global, physical activity movement.

Due to high demand, TAFISA has developed Patronage Guidelines for events in the field of Sport for All and physical activity (SAPA). TAFISA’s goal is to support members in good standing, who are providing the platform for men and women of various age groups and abilities to develop, compete in, demonstrate and/or participate in their particular sport or physical activity in the direction of SAPA. Events can include conferences or congresses and campaigns, as well as physical activity events. For more information, please see the TAFISA Patronage Guidelines and Cover Letter.

TAFISA currently has more than 250 member organizations from more than 150 countries across all continents.  This includes governmental bodies, national Olympic committees, national and international sports bodies, educational institutions, individuals and more.

TAFISA has three categories of membership:

  • National Members:

  • International Members:
institutions that promote Sport for All and physical activity internationally
  • Supporter Members:

TAFISA has grown significantly since its inception in terms of membership, reach and impact. We acknowledge that this growth and success would not have been possible without the significant contributions from individuals and organisations over the last 40 years. These contributions have been many and varied, including in the form of monetary and in kind donations, sharing of expertise and experience, cooperation for programs and events, etc. In recognition of these contributions, TAFISA has established an Awards Scheme to honour those individuals and organisations that have enabled, and continue to support, TAFISA’s growth and success.
